Each of us believes in a world where laws are obeyed and we share respect for our fellow man. Even though we consider ourselves Law Abiding Citizens, there are times when we stretch the edges of what is legal or illegal. Take driving on the highway for example. I think that its safe to say that just about everyone exceeds the speed limit each time they drive on the highway.
G Gordon Liddy visited the campus of Cornell University while I was a student there in the late 1980’s. One student was called upon to ask him a question which was “Didn’t you know you were breaking the law during Watergate?” Liddy responded “of course, I drive over 55 all the time.” His retort was met with laughter because everyone in the crowd most likely had done the same.
As we enter the 2020’s, very few people consider the fact that they are breaking the speed limit law, among many others. The world surveillance state, powered by a technocratic infrastructure, may soon call you out for your various infractions like speeding. You unwittingly are enabling them to do so.
Consider the app WAZE. Many of us use WAZE, the community fed mapping app which allows users to spot and inform others in its subscriber base about construction, traffic and potential speed traps. What we do not consider is that WAZE is watching US. It knows where we go and when, when we speed, and when we don’t. It silently collects a treasure trove of data on our driving habits.
Israeli created WAZE is owned by Google. Google paid $1.3 billion for the company. According to Wikipedia, WAZE’s 100 or so employees each received $1.2 million, a record at the time for Israeli Super Tech.
Google is one example of the large ever-growing tech companies that are becoming Island nations unto themselves. Consider the 4 largest players in INT, or Island Nation Tech, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google. Each has branched out into products that surveille the user, cell phones, watches, door bells, listening portals, shipping companies, eye glasses and more; all designed to collect information on you, the end user, under the guise of convenience.
Information is power, and now more than ever it is extremely valuable. As these companies grow unabated, the breadth of their infiltration into our lives grows on a daily basis. They know with whom you associate, what your hobbies and sports are, if you buy fruits and vegetables or junk food, how much you spend and when; they can even listen to your private conversations at home. You didn’t know you were up against the HAL 9000 did you?
Consider that these companies also have credit cards of their own. If you make political contributions from one of these cards, they will also know your leanings whether left or right; to say nothing of browser or search engine reporting. We are literally witnessing a transformation from Free Market Capitalism to various Hostage Economic Ecosystems (HEEs). If you purchase music, films, ebooks or shows, they all reside in a HEE, not on your bookshelf or anywhere else they might be accessible. You can only view your entertainment within the confines of the HEE and its authorized equipment. This type of ingenuity is borderline diabolical!
So why the example of WAZE made earlier? Consider the Island Nation Tech company to which you may be wed and its own Hostage Economic Ecosystem. What might you be inclined to do when it begins to sell bundled financial products like Stock trading services, Power, Fuel or…. Automobile Insurance?
If apps like WAZE have collected all this driving data on you, and you are purchasing Automobile Insurance from a Google subsidiary, they will know the extent of the risk they are underwriting. If you have a lead foot, you’re going to see those premiums inch up progressively over time. You may not notice increases in the bundled service that are being offered. Don’t forget your health insurance is with them too. Oh darn, your premium is high! You sent in your cheek swab to 23andMe, and now they know from your DNA that you are at risk to get cancer or diabetes.
Take it one step further. Google hypothetically buys land from the Federal government. It builds its own Smart City, creating its own government and everything. You happen to drive through town and break the speed limit. Will you receive an emailed ticket? Will there ever be elected officials or will it have corporate governance, established and paid for by Google? Could you be detained by its police force indefinitely? So maybe you never sent a swab to 23andMe. What if you stay at a hotel in Google City, and an employee takes your drinking cup back to the sampling room, where they swab it and add you to their database? Would you even know?
If ever there was an antitrust argument to be made, it is now. Big Tech needs a big breakup before every last vestige of freedom is lost. It is no wonder there are individuals out there decrying the antiquity of the Constitution, saying it needs to be rewritten. The constitution actually states what Governments cannot do to its citizens, unlike an Island Nation Tech company. The constitution stands in the way of INT domination.
If our government does not take matters into its own hands like Europe is doing, all we can do is disconnect.
